I use Fujifilm X series cameras + lenses for all of my work.

For those of you wondering what my kit bag looks like and what kind of gear I'm using for work then you are in the right place. This setup is all of my Fuji Gear for weddings and almost anything else I do, there are links to blogs about individual pieces of gear and a bit of why I've chosen this setup, enjoy.

This kit is what I started using at the start of 2024, after purchasing the 50mm F1.0 to replace the old 56mm F1.2

Take a look at my old Fuji X-H1 kit bag here.

Here’s a video of my Kit Bag that I was using before the 50mm F.10 upgrade (Still great kit here)

Two Fuji X-H2 Bodies

Fantastic, fast cameras and a massive upgrade from the Fuji X-H1.

I'll shoot most events on a 512gb CF Express card + 128gb SD card on compressed RAW + JPEG backup.

The flip-out screen is incredibly useful, focus is fast. IBIS is just incredible, for both video and low-light stills, the grip makes holding the cameras all day much more comfortable and the leaf spring shutter is just a delight.

I try to only genuine Fuji batteries of which I have 10, this can get me through a wedding day with no problem (but I have 2 backup third-party batteries in the car, along with a USB charger)

For video this thing just dominates, 8k recording option, dedicated record button next to the shutter, 160 minutes continuous recording!

Fujinon 18mm F1.4 Lens

A new upgrade which I got at the same time as the Fuji X-H2 bodies.

Just a stunning lens all round, I sold the Fuji 16mm + 23mm and put the money into this lens. It is much faster than both of those older lenses and forms a key part of my preferred 18mm + 33mm shooting setup for most weddings.

Sharp, fast, and light.

Fujinon 33mm F1.4 Lens

I had this for about a year before getting the Fuji X-H2 bodies.

It started off as a lens for video (which it is great for and I’ll shoot 99% of a wedding video day with only this lens) but then it started to creep into my photography work. I ended up using it more and more and the super fast focus and insane sharpness sold me on it and now it's my go-to lens for weddings. If pushed I could happily photograph a whole wedding on only this lens.

Fujinon 50mm F1.0 Lens

(Full Review Coming Soon)

This lens is a huge, beautiful beast that eats light for breakfast and has been glued to my camera since I bought it.

Godox V1 Flash

A great and powerful flash, the round head gives pleasing light.

I moved to the Godox system in 2022, it’s a really nice flash and great for dance floor photos which is pretty much the only time I’ll use it.

Other Bits

Spider Holster

A slight upgrade from the Black Widow Holster, this one clips to the belt without having to tread it through, and has a lock function so I can get the camera without having to hold the lever down. Great accessory for having two cameras. It's also metal and metal is better than plastic. This holds my X-H2 + 33mm lens combo.

Peak Design Strap

The strap for my main camera [usually the 18mm] it's super comfy, doesn't cut into my neck and adjusts very quickly. I used to have it in red which was a bit bright for me, as such I’ve changed to grey and got myself the thinner version which is altogether much nicer on the Fuji cameras.

Some sort of bag

I keep changing my mind with bags. I used to have a Peak Design Sling* which I liked for a while but it wasn’t that comfortable for a long day, I also had a ONA bag*, which was stylish but again not that comfy. I’m currently using a Manfrotto MB* which is more comfortable as it's a backpack, can fit more inside and can store a laptop so it’s great if I need to be backing up on the go.

I hope you found that Fun? Useful? Expensive?
