Going Back to the Fuji X100 Series (again)
I went and bought a Fuji X100T and I’m wondering why I ever left the Fuji x100 series.
This has happened before, a few years back I sold my Fuji X100 and then got it again and then sold it again and now I’m back to owning a Fuji 100T.
What exactly have I bought?
I managed to snag a used Fuji X100T, the third iteration of the series, for a great deal at £540. Despite having some light fungus in the viewfinder, which is hardly noticeable and doesn't affect me, I still consider it a bargain.
In addition, I also acquired a USB charger and a couple of extra batteries, specifically the old NP95 model, for convenient on-the-go charging.
I'm content with just the X100T as my primary equipment and won't be investing in any adapter lenses or other accessories.
Why did I get the X100T and not the X100F or X100V?
Have you tried to buy one of these things?!
It's becoming increasingly difficult due to the skyrocketing prices, even for older models. The emergence of these cameras on TikTok and other social media platforms has caused a surge in demand, leading to scarcity and price inflation. To make matters worse, the newest model, the X100V, has been out of stock for an extended period.
Personally, I find the X100F and X100V to be more advanced than I require. I'm using this camera for personal use while out and about, and it's not intended for professional work. Therefore, having a model that's a few versions behind is perfectly acceptable to me.
What will I be using it for?
While the quality of this camera is top-notch and could potentially be used for professional work, it's primarily intended for personal use.
My plan is to use it for capturing memories during days out and documenting my own life, as well as exploring photography purely for enjoyment and creative expression.
In fact, I'm so excited about using it that I've decided to bring it along for my Iceland elopement, I'm thrilled at the prospect of documenting my own wedding with this camera.
