Anna & Woody / Hampshire Wedding Photography
I received a lovely postcard from Anna & Woody thanking me for my work:
"Thank you so much again for doing such a brilliant job documenting our wedding day. We love the photos and have had lots of comments about how 'cool' our photographer was! We really appreciate you travelling to Hambledon + being such a pro in general. - Anna + Woody"
As I left home on a wet Saturday morning for Anna and Woody's Wedding in the Hampshire countryside I could only hope for the weather to improve and a bit of sun to come out, my hopes were realised when a rainy overcast morning turned into a bright sun filled afternoon, guess I didn't need my umbrella after all.
Anna and Woody's wedding took place in the small village of Hambledon, we started the day at Anna's mums with flower picking in a meadow, bridal prep and an impromptu quiz. The morning was a really great time, plenty of time to get some getting ready shots and make a good start on the day.
Soon the afternoon rolled around, and with it the sun, the service was taking place at the local church and when I arrived it was already full of guests and decorated in the most incredible wild flowers.
After the service we all headed over to Hambledon Cricket ground; the Broadhalfpenny Down which I'm told is the birthplace of modern cricket, the good weather stayed with us and I took this time to grab shots of the marquee laid out for the evening and people enjoying the fine views and open countryside.
We took this time to do the usual posed shots and afterwards the couple and myself headed out to grab few portraits of which some are below.
Then it was time for the food which was served in a fantastic sharing way with whole joints of meat ready to carve, a real treat and such a fun and interactive way to serve food at a wedding. After this the evening quickly got underway with lots of dancing, as great band and a piñata.
I shot this wedding with my usual Fuji gear of an XE1 & XE2 and the 35mm and 60mm lenses, I also used a 50mm and 100mm Olympus lens for some of the shots, I did a bit more free-lensing at this wedding and can say I'm really liking this effect and the unique images it can produce.
Many thanks to Anna and Woody, you guys really made it a great wedding and I hope your adventure continues for many years to come.
