A Little Update / Getting Back To It

Well, it’s been a long while since I’ve posted to the blog, with the last couple of years being pretty much insane, things like blogging have just totally dropped off my radar.

But, things seem to be looking up now, and weddings started back up in the summer of 2021 which means I’ve got some awesome content to blog! (Which I’ll hopefully keep up with!)

Jessi + Jez - Lyde Court Wedding Photography

You may remember back last year when I shot the smaller wedding of Jessi and Jez (link to blog). They brought their wedding forward to get married in November 2019 due to Jez’s illness, you can read more about the guys and Jez’s fight against cancer over on their GoFundMe <

Their original date for the wedding was May 2020, but they also bought this forward and had the wedding on February the 14th, which ended up working out really well as thanks to Coronavirus no one is getting married anytime soon!

7Artisans 12mm f2.8 lens for Fuji - Review

7artisans make cheap manual focus lenses that are ideal if you need something to fill a gap in your lens range, need an infrequently used focal length, or just want to try out something different without breaking the bank.

I got this lens to cover a job I had shooting some interior photos, while not all of the shoot was done this wide it was good for those tight spaces where the 16mm just wouldn’t have cut it and I didn’t want to fork out for the Fuji 10-24mm (my gear already covers the top end of this range) and I’m not a fan of renting lenses.

The job more than covered the cost of the lens, so an afternoon out shooting and I came away with this lens to add to my bag.

🎥 Lauren + Anthony - Brinsop Court Wedding Videography, Herefordshire

I met up with Lauren and Antony in early 2019 with their photographer and my good friend Che Birch Hayes, he was taking care of the photographs of the wedding day and I was making a film.

The day started with the bridal prep and I got to work capturing footage and getting myself set up, my working setup for video is similar to my photography setup, with my Fuji X-H1 at the heart of my gear load-out.
