Vicky & Justyn - A Rainy Day at Lyde Arundel, Herefordshire
Rain sucks, but when you get to shoot a wedding where the people don't let the rain bother them, that's just great, for this wedding I headed up to Herefordshire and to Lyde Arundel, enjoy...
The day started in the afternoon with a bit of bridal prep then over to the church, the vicar was a real pleasure and happy for me to be where I needed which is just great, here I used the fantastic electronic shutter of the Fuji XE-2 a completely silent option for shooting photos, just perfect in the church to avoid making any noise.
As soon as we got out of the church the rain set it, as such we were all huddled under the porch, I headed out a bit further to keep shooting and after a few minutes of waiting we decided to head straight to the reception.
Lyde Arundel is a superb venue, very well fun and all in all a great place to shoot, even in the rain which kept us inside for most of the day. I was originally meant to only be doing a half day wedding but this was extended to get some photos outside when the weather cleared up in the evening, as such we were able to head down to the gardens for a few drinks and a few quick formal shots.
The evening descended into tequila, a piñata, all of the fake moustaches and some epic shapes thrown on the dance floor, for a night where I was meant to head off for an early finish I'm really glad that these guys had me stay on for the rest of the night.
Gear wise it's all shot on 3 Fuji X-E2's with the 14, 23 & 56mm lenses, most of the church stuff is shot with the electronic shutter and the evening was lit with a Nissin i40, the cameras got fairly wet outside the church but they held up well. Who needs weather sealing.
Here are my favourites from the day, feel free to leave a comment below,
Cheers, Col-
