Editorial Photography / The Wild Beer Co. for Ernest Journal
A few months ago I was commissioned for some editorial photography at a brewery in Somerset, Fuji XE1 and editors brief in hand I headed down to this incredible place with Abi from Ernest and met the guys who turned thier passion for beer making into a fine art.
Ernest Journal
I was commsioned by a new lifestyle magazine Ernest Journal for this project and the aim was to help them showcase this great brewery for their iPad issue of the magazine. This was such a fun project to be part of and incredibly interesting to find out how the beer is made and conditioned, also being part of Ernest Journal is a real treat as this magazine is right up my street and features genuinely interesting articles and is very well out together.
The Wild Beer Co.
This project was the first time I had heard of this curious company, based in Somerset the guys at The Wild Beer Co. have grown to where they are incredibly quickly and a few samples of the beer make it obvious why. Producing a wide range of beers and conditioning them in Oak casks that hold the previous flavours of wines, whiskys and other beers leads to a very unique repertoire of beers, so if you ever get the chance to try some then be sure you do!
This whole project was great fun to be part of and I'm very happy with the images produced, can't wait for more stuff like this, so check out below for some shots and be sure to check out both Ernest Journal and the Wild Beer Co.
All images are shot with a Fuji XE-1 + 35mm 1.4 - Natural light.
(Issue one of Ernest is now out and if you pick yourself up a copy you will fine a good many of my images gracing its pages, a few of which I've put below)
