Dan + Jess / Dewsall Court Wedding Photography, Herefordshire

A great wedding and a really fun one to get stuck into video with.

A great wedding and a really fun one to get stuck into video with.

Back in 2017 I headed over to Dewsall Court in Herefordshire for this wedding, which I shot slightly differently.

This wedding was approached very differently to my usual way, in that I also shot video as well as stills this time around. This idea came from the couple who had seen that I was starting to explore the world of video and had asked if I could shoot them a little video at their wedding. Practice for me, video for them, win-win.

I decided to bring along another photographer to help me on the day, my good friend Che Birch Hayes second shot for me so I could focus on video for the quick 'one shot' moments of the day, confetti and the like and he could get the stills. Che and I split up for most of the morning so he could cover the guys while I stayed with the bridal party, with a little swapping in between to get the video shots I needed.

The ceremony was in the beautifully decorated Wainhouse barn, after which everyone walked back over to the main house for drinks and canapés. This is always the most interesting part of the day to shoot, lots of people in a nice close environment make for happy shooting. The evening was the usual mix of speeches, food and dancing but with a very special gift of a horse painting for the couple. Awesome.

This wedding was great to shoot and a very good jump into shooting video on the Fuji XT-2, I'll have a full blog soon regarding this part if you would like to see more, please enjoy the video (be sure to turn on HD) and feel free to leave a comment or any questions below.

Cheers,
